Active mobility in Barcelona

mapa del indicador de movilidad activa en Barcelona

The adequacy of the characteristics of the built environment for walking and cycling in cities is measured through the overall active mobility indicator. This indicator considers urban densities for walkability, cyclability, urban greenery, urban vitality, and the 15-minute city concept.

Barcelona has the appropriate characteristics to facilitate walking and cycling. The values are high in the city center.  In contrast, the values are low in the periphery. The mountainous areas (Collserola, Montjuïc, and the hills of Rovira, Guinardó, and Carmel) as well as the Zona Franca do not favor active mobility.
