Barcelona – Urban green

Urban green in Barcelona

Urban green spaces include parks, landscaped areas and trees in public and private spaces.

7% of the city of Barcelona is covered with abundant vegetation, while 53% has dispersed vegetation. The distribution of urban greenery is polycentric: the city features large parks and gardens (such as La Ciutadella and Glòries), the mountains of Collserola and Montjuïc, and the hills in the upper part of the municipality (Turó de la Rovira, Park Güell, and Parque del Guinardó).

Vegetation is also present in the form of trees and flower beds along the streets of the city’s central districts.
