Intermodality in Granada

Gradual color map showing intermodality levels in the city of Granada.

The intermodality map of Granada shows the levels of intermodality within the city. In this case, Granada has three levels of intermodality, as it features two modes of public transport (metro and bus) along with bicycles.

The areas with the highest level of intermodality are located along the city’s main corridors, particularly in the zones of Nueva Granada, Los Cármenes, and Colonia Cervantes. These areas have good integration of the various modes of transport.

The areas with lower intermodality (level 1) are located around the areas with higher intermodality, such as Casería de Montijo, San Juan de Dios, San Matías, San Conrado, Ciudad Jardín, Bola de Oro, and Colonia Divina Infantita.

On the other hand, areas without intermodality include more peripheral neighborhoods such as Polígono de Almanjayar, Barriada de la Paz, Polígono de Cartuja, La Chana, Haza Grande, Sacromonte, El Albaicín, Barriada de la Juventud, Colonia San Sebastián, Santa Juliana, and El Serrallo.

The map shows that the transportation system in Granada is oriented towards the central urban axis, while peripheral areas face significant limitations in terms of multimodal accessibility.
